SZC is currently certified as a Level 1 BBBEE status (135% procurement recognition) company, and is wholly committed to the SA Government's Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Strategy.

SZC is committed to uplift and assist previously disadvantaged individuals, and in so doing elevate individuals and communities within South Africa. To meet this commitment, a multifaceted programme has been implemented, which includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Identifying, developing and training of employees from a previously disadvantaged background.
• Preferential procurement from BBBEE Certified Suppliers and support to black business and communities.
• Technical knowledge and skills transfer of various Engineering and Management Skills to emerging Contractors and Consultants.
